Soon after
the completion of Disney World, someone said, "Isn't it too
bad that Walt Disney didn't live to see this?" Mike Vance,
creative director of Disney Studios, replied, "He did see
it - thatıs why it's here!"
Vision - the
capacity to see the way things could be in the future - is critical
to the health and life of any organization. Proverbs 29:18 affirms
this when it says, "Where there is no vision, the people
perish." We remember that on the day of Pentecost, the day
that marked the birth of the New Testament church, Peter stood
up and quoted from the book of Joel: "In the last days, God
says, 'I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and
your daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions
and your old men will dream dreams.'"
After much
prayer and careful consideration, the Board of Deacons and the
Pastoral staff have formulated a vision for Springvale's future.
Our motives are not about bricks and mortar, but rather about
reaching people and changing lives. Through God's enabling, we
want to win, disciple, and develop people into a community of
committed followers of the Lord Jesus Christ.
As we look
forward to what God will do through us, we canıt help but become
excited. Our desire is for everyone who is touched by Springvale's
ministries to share this excitement.
Join with
us as we wait expectantly for how God will continue to use Springvale
to touch lives within our congregation, region and our world.
Sincerely,
Bob Flemming
Senior Pastor
